Privacy Policy for Focus Timer: Deep Work Mode

This Privacy Policy explains how Focus Timer: Deep Work Mode (“Focus Timer”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the App.

By using Focus Timer, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Focus Timer is designed to provide a focused productivity experience and does not require you to create an account.

Information You Provide

The App may store information that you enter or configure, including:

  • Your selected focus goal
  • Your selected distractions
  • Your daily focus target
  • Your default focus duration
  • Your preferred break duration
  • Focus tasks you create
  • Task names
  • Task durations
  • Task priorities
  • Breaks you create
  • Task completion status
  • Focus session information
  • Session duration
  • Session quality or reflection
  • Your selected focus mode
  • Your selected soundscape
  • Sound and haptic preferences
  • Other settings you configure within the App

This information is used to provide and personalize the App's productivity and focus features.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

Focus Timer stores core productivity information locally on your Android device.

This includes your focus tasks, focus sessions, preferences, and other app settings required for the App to function.

The current application architecture uses local Android storage and a local Room database for this information.

Your task and focus-session data is not currently designed to require an online account.

3. No Account Required

Focus Timer currently does not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, phone number, or password to use the core application.

If account-based functionality is introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when that functionality is introduced.

4. Internet Access

The App requests Internet access.

Internet access may be used for functionality provided by integrated services or future/optional online functionality.

The current core focus-task and focus-session data architecture is local to your device.

We do not represent that all future versions of the App will operate entirely offline. If the way information is transmitted or processed changes, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

5. Soundscapes and Audio

Focus Timer provides focus soundscapes such as:

  • Brown Noise
  • Rain
  • Forest
  • Ocean
  • Deep Space

The App generates or plays these sounds locally as part of the focus experience.

The App does not require microphone access to provide these soundscape features.

6. Haptic Feedback

The App may use the Android vibration capability when haptic feedback is enabled.

Haptic feedback is used to provide interaction or focus-session feedback.

The App does not use vibration to collect information about you.

7. Device Permissions

The current version of Focus Timer requests limited Android permissions required for its functionality.

Vibration

The App may use the Android vibration permission for haptic feedback.

Internet

The App requests Internet access for supported online services and functionality.

The App does not currently request access to:

  • Camera
  • Microphone
  • Location
  • Contacts
  • SMS
  • Call logs
  • Photos or videos
  • Installed applications

unless a future version explicitly introduces such functionality and the applicable disclosures and permissions are provided.

8. Analytics and Advertising

The current core application code reviewed for this Privacy Policy does not implement an advertising SDK or a user-facing advertising system.

The current source also does not show implementation of Firebase Analytics, Firebase Authentication, or Firestore for collecting or storing your personal information.

If analytics, advertising, crash reporting, authentication, cloud storage, or other third-party data-processing services are added in a future version, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety information will be updated to accurately describe the data involved.

9. Artificial Intelligence

The current project contains Firebase AI-related dependencies, but the reviewed application code does not establish that personal user data is currently being sent to an AI service.

If AI functionality is enabled in a future version and user-provided information is transmitted to an AI provider, the App will provide appropriate disclosures and update this Privacy Policy to explain what information is transmitted, why it is processed, and the relevant service provider.

10. How We Use Information

Information stored by the App may be used to:

  • Create and manage your focus tasks
  • Organize tasks according to their priority
  • Run focus sessions
  • Run breaks
  • Track completed focus sessions
  • Calculate focus statistics
  • Display progress
  • Maintain your focus streak
  • Remember your preferences
  • Play your selected soundscape
  • Provide haptic feedback
  • Maintain the App's functionality

We do not use your task information for purposes unrelated to providing the App unless those purposes are disclosed to you.

11. Data Sharing

The current core application does not intentionally sell your personal information.

Because the current application does not require an account, core task and session information is designed to remain on your device.

If third-party services are introduced that receive user information, this Privacy Policy will identify the relevant categories of information and purposes of processing as required.

12. Data Retention

Information stored locally by Focus Timer may remain on your device until:

  • You delete the relevant information within the App, where such functionality is provided;
  • You clear the App's data;
  • You uninstall the App; or
  • The App removes or replaces the relevant information as part of its normal functionality.

Because core productivity information is stored locally, we do not maintain a central server copy of that information through the current local database architecture.

13. Data Deletion

You can remove locally stored Focus Timer information by using available deletion controls within the App or by clearing the App's storage through your Android device settings.

Uninstalling the App will generally remove its local application data according to Android's normal app-data behavior, subject to Android backup or device settings.

If future versions introduce accounts or server-side storage, additional account/data deletion mechanisms will be provided as required by applicable laws and Google Play policies.

14. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to limit unnecessary collection and protect information handled by the App.

Core focus data in the current version is stored locally using Android's application storage and a local Room database.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

15. Children's Privacy

Focus Timer is a general productivity application and is not specifically designed for children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account-registration system because the current version does not require account creation.

16. Third-Party Services

The App may use Android platform services and software libraries required to operate the application.

Third-party libraries may process information according to their own technical operation and applicable privacy policies.

We are responsible for ensuring that third-party SDKs integrated into the App are appropriately disclosed and used in accordance with applicable Google Play requirements.

Google Play requires developers to ensure that third-party SDK practices are consistent with the app's disclosures and applicable User Data policies.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App's functionality, data practices, legal requirements, or third-party services change.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy.

We recommend reviewing this Privacy Policy periodically.
